They say that you are probably good at whatever annoys you the most when it’s wrong. If you know people who say that you excel in something, take them seriously. Who knows, they may be right! Perhaps this website may help you to take delight in the secret creativity you already enjoy.
Cha-Ord Theory
Have you ever been in a meeting where undigested ideas are thrown around the room? Where no one seems to be listening to each other, just saying what they want to say? Your irritation rises. You want to flee, despairing that anything will ever be decided. It’s Chaos.
And then, and then…one small comment from one person changes all that. One additional thought links all the suggestions in place together. The puzzle fits! Plans go ahead, and with a sigh, the members are friends again.
That’s an example of Cha-Ord. Chaos is unexplored territory, the realm of possibility. Order is, well, order. The point of creativity is right smack between the two – taking chaos to a point of order that isn’t so fixed it can’t be improved upon. It’s unsettling, riding the storm of chaos and the security of unfixable order, but that’s where we go for humbling, open-minded creativity – to have enough order to be tethered and enough chaos to be challenged. Creativity is all about being able to embrace both. How does it work for you?

Eight years of monthly blogging! Why I started is lost in the mists of time, but the trepidation every month when pressing the “publish” button still remains. Readers are generous in the praise, and lucid in their corrections. Thanks to all for being part of the writing development team. Artist in Your Own Residence
Artist in Your Own Residence. It is a joy to convene and host this group. It’s great support for me, too. Every year people come together for a year-long project to do the creativity they’ve always meant “to get around to do”. We meet monthly by zoom to encourage each other and to keep the dream despite what the real world throws at us. Some people have a clear goal in mind. Others take several months to decide.
